Metal or “train-track” braces are by far and away the most common type of braces used worldwide and for good reason, they work brilliantly. Surprisingly, these can often work faster and more efficiently than some of the less visible braces on the market and are therefore popular with both NHS and private patients.
Small metallic squares or brackets are carefully glued to the teeth and clever high technology wires are held in position by miniature elastics, which can be coloured if desired. All our orthodontic nurses are experts in recommending fun colour schemes!
